Fair questions
Is this officially Character.AI?
No. MainChar is built on Character.AI's platform by MAINCHARACTER, an independent studio. Every streamer character is made together with the creator it's based on, and nothing launches without their approval.
Is it free?
Yes. Adding it to a server costs nothing and we never ask for a card. Premium adds custom characters, shorter cooldowns, and priority during big streams.
What about safety and moderation?
Filters are on from the moment it joins. Mods control which channels the character can speak in, set cooldowns, and can mute it instantly with /quiet. Characters never DM anyone first.
Can it join voice channels?
Not yet. Voice is in a closed beta with a few partner servers, and it opens up once we're happy with how it sounds.
How do I remove it?
/quiet mutes it in a channel; kicking the app removes it entirely. No hard feelings. It will pretend to be sad.
